Defenseless to Defended: Election Thoughts

Have you ever wondered why we get so stressed over who the next president is? Whether you are a Democrat, a Republican or an Independent or a nonvoter, we all have strongly held beliefs. Both parties smear the other candidate in hopes of winning the person's vote, which causes us to question whether we should vote at all. In this election cycle, we have polarization on both sides like we haven't seen before. We have one president who has been inactive in the White House and didn't help our nation get stronger and better. We need policy debates, not political smear campaigns or, in political terms, "a negative campaign." Politicians want to change our strongly held beliefs by infiltrating the minds of voters with disgusting attacks directed at the person. Harris calls Trump Supporters "Nazis." Trump calls Harris "Marxist." These are extreme examples that both parties have used to attract voters to their side.


In my debate days, I was taught not to use extreme examples. Most of the time I lost the debate due to my respect of the opposition viewpoint. In one debate, I even told the judges that my opponent was making an excellent case for their side. This was a debate between Economic Freedom and Economic Equity. My opponent was making a case that in China, They have sweatshops and no child labor laws. As a result, they started working long hours and were so burned out that the owners of this "sweatshop" had to install nets to stop the children from jumping out the window. However, In the United States, they instituted Child Labor laws. For instance, Minors at Walmart can only work 25 hours a week, whereas those above 18 can work full-time hours of 40 hours but cannot exceed 40 hours. Which example had a better effect on the citizens' quality of life, economic freedom, or economic equity? This was my opponent's attack against my stance on Economic Freedom. Therefore, I conceded because my opponent made a good case against my side. This was an honest debate with no hint of a political smear campaign.


What happened to the days of honest debate? Let's go through some of the most recent presidents. Let's start with the greatest American president of all time, who won the election by 525 electoral votes. The only president that has achieved the unity of Americans. Ronald Reagan was one of the best presidents of the United States that was for the freedoms of all Americans and was the only president that was for all Americans. However, he warned us, "We are one generation away from losing our freedoms." Abraham Lincoln stated, "A house divided cannot stand.." President Donald Trump says, "We must make America Great Again." This inevitably started the MAGA movement.


We are a generation of division, chaos, and pure insanity. We have two candidates who are running a negative campaign that invokes fear, turmoil, and utter distrust in the millions of lives of Americans. Before I begin my policies, Let's begin with the Preamble to the Consitution.


The Preamble to the Constitution:


We, the People of the United States, to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, ensure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.


If I were running for a political seat, I would institute the following election policies:


1) Restore Campaign decorum.

Educate the politicians on respecting the other side even though they strongly disagree with their opposition stance. We should never start "Ad Homem" debates because they smear the other person. How would you feel if every day you woke up and faced accusations from the other side that we are "garbage, Nazis, Extremist"? The other side is running smear campaigns that might win the election but not encourage campaign decorum. Then, we have former President Donald Trump also running a smear campaign against Vice President Kamala Harris.


2) Encourage all Americans to vote.

Whether you are a Democrat, a Republican, or an Independent, get out and vote. Vote! Vote! Vote!


3) Maintain election integrity in all states.

Ensure that all votes are being counted. We need to remove noncitizens from the voting rolls and have a national Real ID Law that mandates that every citizen must live in the United States and have documentation that they were born here. Also, penalize the people who run election interference and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.



Here are my other policies based on the Constitution of the United States of America.


1) Close our Southern Borders to Illegal Migrants.

If they come here legally, I do not have a problem. But if they come here illegally and are disrupting our nation's anti-criminal laws, they should be deported immediately and be prosecuted as a traitor to our nation and trying to undermine our nation's laws. They are, in essence, should be tried as International criminals. I would urge Congress to pass a Border Security Bill addressing this issue. I would also institute the Aliens and Sedition Act of 1789 and deport all illegal immigrants out of this country, starting with the MS-13 Gang and the Mexican Drug Cartels.


2) Reduce inflation.


Grocery prices have skyrocketed immensely. Currently, I am working at Walmart, and I see how grocery prices increase every week. When did that happen? How is the Government solving this issue? We, as a nation or as a state, need to reduce inflation by creating policies aimed at reducing inflation, like having an anti-price gouging law that mandates that prices can only increase by a certain percentage per year. Also, having businesses adjust the wages of all the employees based on the cost of living increases. Currently, they are doing this with our taxes but not our paychecks. This is so wrong.


3) Ensure and restore domestic tranquility.


Our nation is divided. We need to develop policies and procedures to restore domestic tranquility. One way we can do this is to stop running smear campaigns against our opponents and start debating policies.


4) Provide for the Common Defense


5) Promote the General Welfare


6) Secure the Blessing of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity.



This is my stance on political issues. I stand for the presidential candidate who values the constitution the most. Sometimes, we have to remind the United States congressmen and congresswomen who they are representing. They are representing us, the people. I wish someday I could be in a political seat and invoke change like Congressman Ron Estes has in the House of Representatives in Washington, DC.
