Prayer is an important part to the daily walk with God. Some people feel like prayer isn’t powerful, but prayer is a powerful weapon. Prayer helps us communicate with God. God desires a two-way communication, not a one-way communication. God longs for a relationship with us. The Holy intercedes for us. The only way to build that relationship is by praying to God.

Youth Pastors and Students have developed unique methods to pray. Some ministers uses the A.C.T.S method to pray.

A stands for Adoration. Adoration means that we should be praising God with His attributes. The Attributes of God includes Holiness, Faithfulness, Omnipresent, Omnipotent, Kind, Merciful, Forgiving, Loving, and Father.

C stands for Confession. 1 John 1:9 states, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” During Confession, we should be confessing our sins because God is faithful and Just to forgive us and purify us from all unrighteousness.

T stands for Thanksgiving. We should be thankful for everything that we have. We have food, clothing, and sheltered. Colossians 1:3-8 states, “We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people–the faith and love that spring up from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel that has come to you. In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world–just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace. You learned it from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful on our behalf, and who also told us of your love in the spirit.” Paul was writing this the Church of Colossae and teaching them the value of being Thankful. The Church of Colossae had a multitude of things to be thankful for. Colossae should be thankful their fellow servant Epaphras and that the Gospel is spreading throughout the entire world. NewSpring church, located in Wichita, KS, had preached the Gospel message to over 44 countries. Also, Bibles are flying off the shelves. This is so cool and we should be thankful, like Colossae was, about the spreading the gospel throughout the world.

S stands for Supplication. Supplication means to asking God prayer requests. Philippians 4:4-7 states, “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” What an Amazing truth! When we feel anxious, we can pray to God and he will listen to our needs. He longs for a relationship.

This is one way to pray. Also, The Holy Spirit intercedes for us.

Romans 8:26-27 states, “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.”

This is amazing truth. When we do not know what to pray for, the Spirit intercedes for us. Remember, Prayer is a powerful weapon.

Tune in tomorrow for another daily encouragement.
