Daily Encouragement: John 1:12-14

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be an Adopted Child of God? What is an Adopted Child of God. An Adopted Child of God has citizenship in Heaven and will never face the punishment of Sin. To become an adopted child of God, one must accept the free gift of Salvation. It is a three step process.

First, Admit you are sinner. I am a sinner and you are sinner. We are all sinners in God’s eyes. Romans 3:23 testifies this Truth. Romans 3:23 states “All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God.” The Payment of Sin is Eternal Separation from God through Death. Romans 6:23a states “For the Wages of Sin is Death.” It is like a big chasm that separates us from God. Man, that is very sad that we cannot be adopted because of our sin nature. However, the second step is the most important.

Second, Believe in Jesus Christ. God provided a way so that we will not fall off and drop into the deep chasm of sin. God provided his perfect son so that He can pay our penalty of sin. He paid the penalty by dying on the Cross for our sin. Three days later, to the amazement of the disciples, He rose on the Third day which is in accordance with the scripture. All we have to do now is accept the free gift of Salvation. Romans 6:23 continues to say “For the Wages of Sin is Death but the Gift of God is Eternal life through Christ Jesus. To accept this gift, you have call upon the name of Jesus Christ and believe He is Lord of your life. He should not be second choice. He should be first choice.

Third, Confess your sins. Jesus wants us to confess our sins so that he can forgive us from our sin. 1 John 1:9 states, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrightousness.”

If you do these steps and accept Jesus in your heart by a meaningful prayer, You will be called a child of God. What an amazing way to be adopted and have our citizenship in heaven.
